Gas chromatograph Shimadzu GC-17A RS-232 communication option installation

The communication PCB is the add-one card intended for translation of TTL-level RS-232 to 12V levels. The board is placed in socket and secured using 1 screw. Socket pointed by red arrow (see picture).
The communication board is installed in right place. Back cover plastic windows in front of PC is removed to make the hole for cable.

Actually what is the Shimadzu comm PCB.

Two sockets, one chip of type ADM 202 and 5 capacitors. Newer level translators chips do not require capacitors.

Communication board from the solder side. The only unique thing on the board - 6-pin socket.
Communication board from the rear GC17A side. Seen the cable. Plastic window which previously obscure the installation place is broken and removed.
The GC-17A with ADC LabNET block, connected directly to FID. The system is ready to run. From the system go 2 serial cables: one -for GC, one for ADC.
